Stephen O. Presley

I serve as Director of Education and Engagement and Senior Fellow for Religion and Public Life at the Center for Religion, Culture and Democracy (an initiative of First Liberty Institute). I also serve as Associate Professor of Church History at Southern Seminary.

I work with educators, pastors, and students to promote a positive vision of religion in the public square. Through my work at CRCD, teaching, and writing, I combine my passion for discipleship and cultural engagement. I actively write, research, and speak on the intersection of Christianity and culture, specializing in drawing wisdom from the great thinkers of the Christian church to help Christians faithfully navigate today's cultural moment.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Baylor University, Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. I am married to Haley and we have four children—Isla, Emma, Luke, and Andrew—and we reside in McKinney, TX.
