I serve as the Senior Fellow for Religion and Public Life at the Center for Religion Culture and Democracy (an initiative of First Liberty Institute) and Associate Professor of Church History at Southern Seminary.
I work with pastors, educators, and students to help promote a positive vision of religion for the public square.
My work at CRCD, along side my teaching and writing, combines my passion for discipleship and cultural engagement. I am actively writing, researching, and speaking on the intersection between Christianity and culture and specialize in drawing from the great thinkers of the Christian church (especially the early church) to help Christians navigate this cultural moment today.
My recent book on cultural engagement synthesizes these ideas: Click here to read more!
I have several recent articles on this topic too: Click here to read more!
I earned my undergraduate degree at Baylor University, Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. I am married to Haley and we have four children, Isla, Emma, Luke, and Andrew and we reside in McKinney, TX.
This site gathers my research, writing, and speaking into one place and contains affiliate links for my work and my recommended resources.
